NEW UAG EVENT
November 30–December 16
University Art Gallery
Gallery Exhibit: Sunshine & Noir*
Large-scale black-and-white landscape photos by Los Angeles-based photographer Thomas Michael Alleman. Shot on negative film stock with a $17 Holga toy camera, these photographs display a seemingly ordinary “slice of life” quality. However, they also portray an unsettling mix of drama, irony, and complexity, qualities that are achieved through framing, vantage point, and the unique technical properties that stem from the Holga camera. There will be a reception at the gallery on Thursday, December 1 from 5-7 pm. Free.

*Replaces the 4th International Narrative Shorts Film Festival exhibition, which was originally scheduled for this time slot.
