2012 Spring Musical: Oklahoma!
Directed by Mike Mazur
This all-time favorite and truly classic musical tells the story of Laurey and the two rivals for her affection: Curly, a cowboy, and Jud, a hired farmhand. The musical takes place in 1906, tackling class issues between farmers and cowmen in the still-developing rugged landscape of a state in its infancy. This is an old-fashioned, songs-in-your-memory show, so don't miss it!
- Advance tickets, at $20 premium, $16 general, $14 senior citizens, and $10 students/children, are available at the University Box Office, corner of Second Street and Normal Avenue. North State Symphony: Across the Seas, from Ages Past
On a ship of legend, we sail the seas to a by-gone Europe with Wagner's The Flying Dutchman Overture. Guest artist Matt Greif's Spanish guitar in Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez evokes sun-drenched plains and Mediterranean passion before we land in the Germany of green forests, rolling rivers and deep, dark beauty with Schumann's Symphony No. 4. Sponsored by Matson and Isom.
- Advance tickets range from $32 for premium seating to $6 for students and children, available at the University Box Office, corner of Second Street and Normal Avenue. Tickets also available online at chicostatetickets.com or by phone, 530.898.6333; additional $4 handling fee. Add $2 for tickets purchased at the door. For special needs seating call 530.898.6333. For Redding tickets, call the Cascade Theatre Box Office 530.243.8877.
